I don't know how I stumbled upon this thread, but it's interesting to say the least. I wonder if the original sentiment is still there?

My sentiments are the same.

If anything I am even more frustrated about the continuing of all the partisan SHEET post-election, especially not considering ideas or proposals because of the political affiliation of the person who proposed them.

Would have been nice if the Great Recession could have brought about the bi-partisan cooperation I so hoped for after the election. Really wanted McCain to become the leader of his party (I really respect him and his ideas even if I didn't vote for him) and help Obama bring about the major reforms and cooperation we sadly need.

I would say we're all past it. lots of good energy around here lately - hopefully most of us are enjoying the present, hopeful about the future, and not dwelling on the past. no, we haven't changed our individual politics or positions even though we may have learned more about others positions. and we definitely learned more about how to listen and respond in a productive way. in the end, we are all still just people who can engage in a debate as well as share ideas, and mostly - laugh.
