January USED to be my favorite month! Football ended and I got my husband back for a couple of months!!! NOW, football is continued into February....ugh

They inch it out a week every few years or so - when it hits March, I'll really be ticked!
I'm with ya, LuLu. January is just blah. Followed closely by March--wind, ides of March, etc. St. Patrick's can be kinda funn though.
You nailed it! It is freezing, and I see no reason for temps to be stay in the 20's unless I get some serious snow!!! Meanwhile I just freeze for no good reason. The only bright side is that it IS closer to summer!!!
Sounds like you need to get down here for the 30A Songwriters Festival, taking place on MLK, Jr weekend. That will cheer your otherwise cold January.
that is the right 'tude SJ. there is always something wonderful to look forward to it seems.
it seems to me that most people have a slump in winter and that's perfectly understandable. especially after all the holiday hype. cold sets in and our active lifestyles kind of come to a halt. shorts and flip flops are not cutting it for the most part. days are short. the weather is dreary much of the time.
winter can start getting dreary and just too long after February. but for me, January has some very wonderful aspects, including the promise of a new fresh year where anything is possible. its freezing "A" here at the moment, but I'm going to go enjoy the fireplace and do that reading I've been looking forward to all day..
on the downside, this new cold is not at all one of the things I enjoy about winter! yuck!

I say good riddance to January. Now, we're one month closer to SUMMER!!
