Well, I bought some Jessica Simpson shoes today. Made me think of this thread.

You know it's funny. I've really been taking notice of just how much she actually IS in the news. According to People Mag. she is currently one of the top 5 most popular celebrities in the world!! So if you look at it that way, it's kind of a big deal that she was in your little corner of the world.

So, who knew? ;-)

Jessica and Tony (and a group of about 6-8 friends- I think Tony's brother was there) were upstairs at Bud and Alley's for several hours. They sat facing the crowd at the gulf front table by itself in the corner (the furthest one to the East)...

They had their table roped off with a bodyguard standing in front of it and there was a Bud and Alley's employee in the vicinity requesting that folks who stopped/gawked for too long keep moving...

She is really little and looked like herself- cute gal. He wore a ball cap and wouldn't have stood out if you didn't know it was him...

They looked like they were having fun. I imagine they were aware that everyone was trying to see them and they rarely if ever looked over as to avoid eye contact...

The place was mobbed with 20 and 30 somethings and most seemed really excited that they were there and everywhere you walked you'd hear people talking about it and see people texting about it...

My wife's younger single cousin stayed until close and said they were still there after he left...

Admittedly, I couldn't help but stare at her everytime I was on that side of the bar. I felt guilty for it and I couldn't help but think that I would never want to be famous...

The roping off is a bit much! They need to take a cue from Sheryl Crowe and relax....the more drama they create the more drama is going to surround them

I agree....I'm not sure why Bud and Alleys would accomodate such an arena with roped off areas and security standing guard. Isn't that a distraction to other guests?

No one was the biggest celebrity we saw or didn't see when we were there last..it was just, just FABULOUSLY AMAZING! When we dined at B&A's, we were not roped off, and although my son is cute and talented and smart he is also young and no young women were mobbing him either. So I think all in all visiting non-celebrities can remain anonymous pretty well on the coast. Thanks to all who did not recognize us. It made us feel, well, feel really, really regular and accepted.
You know what, though, I wouldn't walk across the street to avoid any celebrity and could care less other than a surprised and thoughtful, "Huh?" knowing someone was coasting. But then again, that's just me.
