in this kind of cold weather??leaving those parrots outside,,,,even with a heat lamp?....so not right.:sosad::sosad::sosad:

Haven't eaten there (yet) so not aware of the setup, or what choices he had for keeping the birdies up there, but I'm pretty sure health inspectors have issues with birds (and other animals, except service animals) in a public eating establishment.

:dunno:

I am not crazy about animals living in a restaurant, but I will say that McTighes appeared very clean and the food is great. The birds were in a dock area and not sure if that qualifies as in the establishment.

So sad to hear about the fire and especially about the birds...Jac had those birds for twenty years and loved them dearly.

"Those birds" (Puka and Lobo) had been outside "bar birds" for many years. Outside, in ATL for over 10 years, according to Jac. Jac and everyone at McTighes loved those birds and that is the most heartbreaking part of this. But no matter what anyone says .... Puka & Lobo were loved and in an environment that they were well accustomed to and were not being abused. Please dont make this out to be anything but the tragic accident it was.
P.S. they were kept in a very large enclosure on the back deck of McTighes. ... they were not IN the restaurant. The inspectors for FDPBR and all other "health inspectors" had no problem with the location of their cage. Lets be a bit accepting of the fact that this man lost 2 members of his "extended family" recently. He had these birds for over 20 years each. MY heart goes out to him, his wife and son, and anyone else who had dealings with any of them.
