Hard up for entertainment these days, lucky? ;-)
I heard a similar thing on the radio a few months ago where the mom said "you never know when it's the last time you've just read 'Goodnight Moon' "

It totally is entertaining...lol! :D

Besides reading Goodnight Moon every day of my son's younger life, we also had the video version of Goodnight Moon. It was a compilation of different children's stories, along with children's ideas and thoughts about dreams. We loved it! He watched it and watched it and I hoped we would never stop watching it together. Anyway, I was cleaning out his tapes and popped it in again (5 years later). He doesn't remember it.

I watch it if nothing better is on, they make me anxious. I did love the Disney World Trip though, it was hilarious. And I loved it when Kate cried when they left, I know exactly how she felt.

Too funny I  the show! Although, DW makes me :yikes: even without the kids! I'll do my time and enjoy it (i guess :dunno:) thru the grandchildren s eyes maybe. :dunno:

I watched an episode where Jon and Kate go shopping "alone" except for the camera crew, and he picks out all her clothes....seems Kate is fashionably challenged. It was grayt! She was so grateful to have him do this and it was hilarious the looks on his face of disbelief in her lack of fashion sense.

I am hung up on their grocery bill. They said that they typically spend $150 a week on groceries. I wonder what all the DON'T have to buy. They said the kids rarely drink milk so that is at least $35 a week that they don't spend (no wait, organic....$42, minimum). They bough half a cow and stuck it in their freezer so, no meat to buy. It looks like Juicy Juice is one of their sponsors so that takes care of the beverages. I didn't really see any veggies in the cart either.
The kids are still pretty little so they aren't consuming a lot yet but still $150 for 10 people can't include everything. With our 4 adolesent boys we spend over $250 a week easy.

From what I've heard and read, it's $150 at ONE store. The amount they spend on groceries a month is closer to $500-$600. I think others were thinking the same thing but it was the way it was portrayed on the show that made it seem that was all they spent a month. I think I read that on their website.

That ws my understanding as well. She said it was for one store only. Have you seen when they make the trips to Sams? She spends ALOT more there.

Yep, this is what their site says:

"How do we spend only $150 per week on groceries for a family of ten? We spend that much ONLY at one store. In other words, due to editing, it seems that we only spend that much period...not entirely true! I shop at discount stores locally (great source of organic foods extremely well priced) as well as at Sam's club every other month or so. We also do not buy our meat at the grocery store. We buy it in bulk at organic wholesale places. Bottom line: We pay as little as possible for organic/nutritious foods for our family because it is important to us! I really can't say what it avererages per month total......maybe between 600-800 per month? Hard to say!"

Well that makes more sense. On the episode they were going on about this $150 and how that was only $15 a person per week which just ain't happening. I know when I was young and poor with little kids I could make a $4 chicken, a couple of carrots and celery stalks and some homemade noodles go a long long way, but seriously there was no fluffernutter going on.

Heck...they always seem to be using paper plates... that's at least 30 a day or 210 a week, that right there is a couple of bucks.
