We saw the movie, Juno, last night and I loved it. The actress playing the main character did an incredible job. Go see it!

We saw it with our 13 and 15 year old daughters. I thought the movie was very good (worth seeing). As for messages to the girls, I have a very slight concern that this movie as well as the Jamie Lynn Spears thing seem to make having babies at 16 seem not as big a deal as it is. On the other hand, I guess it does give an opportunity to reinforce the messages you want to give your kids - though I think Jamie Lynn Spears was enough of a motivation to have another, even more serious, talk with the kids.

There were some pretty sexual scenes with Juno and her boyfriend at the beginning of the film. The rest of the movie was her dealing with it and making decisions, and some of it was dramatic and some of it was quite sweet.

We didn't take the kids. Wanted to check it out first. I would have been a bit uncomfortable if my 13 yr old was watching it with us due to some fairly explicit scenes. Our show was PACKED with 13-21 year old girls. It's probably best for someone over 15-16, but if my 13 yr old really wanted to see it, I'd probably let her. I have some of the same concerns as Paula regarding the pregnancy at 16 thing. But at least it didn't enforce that it's wonderful to have a baby at that young age.

I too have the exact same concerns as a few of you. I just cringe at the thought of glamorizing teen pregnancy. I'm guessing this film has a happy ending as well. But I'm still really torn. My son and his girlfriend (17 & 16) want to see this TOGETHER. (They love these 2 young actors.) Oh well, what else can I say? They'll see it, I'll have the "conversation" again, he'll roll his eyes - like he already knows everything.

But it IS supposed to be a good movie. :D

Sounds as though all of you share my concerns. I'm still not sure if I will allow Sam to see it. She did ask. She thinks since she's 14 she can see any PG-13 movie. I told her sorry, it doesn't work that way. This weekend she saw One Last Call with her girlfriends. I wasn't thrilled but she didn't have nightmares or any long term emotional scars (that Iknow of) from it so I guess it's okay. I used to see all those scary slasher type films in high school and loved them. Wah! I just want go back to playing Polly Pockets.

We saw it and thought it was great, too. I loved the guy who played her boyfriend. I appreciated the way they dealt with the whole situation in general and was glad they didn't portray the parents as freaking out. It all seemed fairly genuine, for a movie.

Saw it and loved it! Many laugh out loud moments and I loved J.K. Simmons and Allison Janney.

I don't think the movie glamorized teen pregnancy at all. Not only did it show how she was sort of a pariah at school, but it was quite sad during the post-delivery scene - both Mom and I cried.

I've been waiting for this movie to come to my town for two months! I'm going to see it this weekend. Can't wait to see two of the Bluth boys on the big screen!
