don't worry, the little otters know not to touch the dunes....

my guess is that we'll head down to grayton for cleanup...anyone know if we can drive on the beach today? if not we'll park & walk....could use the exercise....and the humidity is only like 2000 % today

Thanks Jennifer...it's a little eerie being the only family at the resort.....pool is a mess so we'll have to get the otters on the beach with their garbage & recycling bags....anybody know how to get down there?
Yes, drive to Grayton Beach, forge Western Lake outflow and walk about 9 miles. Bam! You are there. ;-) Seriously, just head down to Grayton.

The cookie sheets on the dunes could be a problem. Someone posted earlier that the dunes seem unstable right now and I'm letting all our guests know to stay away from the dunes and to definitely keep their kids away from the dunes. Stay close to the shore and enjoy the beach -- it will probably look quite nice next to the shore very soon (there's a photo of the shore at Grayton beach and (if you don't look back at the dunes) looks like it's quite beautiful. Probably the same in most beaches as long as you don't look back at the dunes! Actually, looking at the dunes will be most interesting because it's not often (thankfully) that we get to see what a hurricane can do. Just take those photos from a distance. There seem to be a few beach accesses along SoWal, so I'd stick to those even if it means a short drive. That's what we'll do when we're there next week.
Great advice Paula. These cliff hanger dunes are very dangerous. Be sure to point out the danger of getting buried to your kids (and curious spouse).

You can drive on but parking will be at a premium. Avoid the nails. Mostly, it is clear of walkovers, but be on the lookout for any small stuff. Clean up at Grayton really won't take too much more work.

Are you kidding me?!?! We're Otters! We are having a great time already  . We did a little beach clean up at Inlet Beach, had some lunch (Summer Kitchen, very good and friendly I might add), Hit the Publix and off to the HP Pool hopefully in a minute of 2.

River<--too lazy to log off and sign on under my own name-->Otter :D
