you could call the wildlife refuge but they'd probably not take it. seems like someone else found one and they told her to let it go. . if you want to try to save it get a hamster cage, give it some bird seed and water and just try not to handle it much. how small is it?? I really have no idea. I'd probably try to save it, but that's just me. :dunno:

milk from an eye dropper is what we used when we rescued baby squirrels back when I was a wee-pee.

A friend of mine used baby formula until his grew teeth and then it was birdseed. Hemmingway is now in a large cage and enjoys a life of leisure. He's over 9 years old and still healthy as a horse.

P.S. Squirrels turn gray with age.

That's what we did. We used puppy milk. We found a baby flying squirrel, but there were three of us kids taking turns feeding it....which felt like it was all day long.

So, I went to look up the feeding schedule cause I can't remember what I ate this morning. Depending on the age it could be every 2 - 4 hours. This link tells you how to check age. I would just give it some pedialyte to keep it hydrated till you can figure out what to do. This also says that most are dehydrated anyway and they don't digest the milk well until they get hydrated. It says for 12 hrs.

We also used the milk and eyedropper when we rescued a bunch of baby opossums. Somewhere, I'm sure I have a photo of some baby opossums climbing on my brother's arms and shoulders.

With the squirrels, we actually warmed them up in the oven!!! It was a cold wet rainy day when they fell out of their nest.

I will not publish her number online but I can have her contact you at yours. She will take very good care of your baby squirrel and has 2 right now that she is caring for since mid-July. I look forward to helping you out- You may contact me at 850-381-2036.

Thanks,

Justin

If it's still a baby, get it started on Rosetta Stone. I'd suggest one of the Middle East languages. The CIA needs spy squirrels. If it refuses to learn, call it taxi---a taxidermist.
