I don't know if I really want to know the answer to this one or not, but what's the thing on the plate?
The log with the sticker was a seat cushion at the Grand Vin, a wonderful wine bar, and it had torn in the back. Being drunk we decided to patch it up. It should stay as long as it will hold. The item on the plate is actually sage. They put together several very large rolling papers and pack it with sage then use the string to hold it together. Had to ask when we first saw it.
