The Lighting Ordinance Committee is meeting Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Public Works conference room, 98 Montgomery Circle, DeFuniak Springs.
The purpose of the meeting is to work on an ordinance amending Chapter 5 of the Walton County Land Development Code by adding a new Section 5.09.00 Outdoor Lighting, amending the glossary of the Land Development Code; establishing standards and recommendations for exterior lighting; providing for intent and purpose; applicability; definitions; standards; enforcement and penalties; interpretation, authority; severability; and effective date.

Finally some consistency in outside lighting. It is going to be great that everyone has the same size and type of light bulbs, and all of them are at the same angle, with no light shining off of anyone's property. And the people we get to hire to enforce this. More employment. I wonder how they are going to regulate this is in regards to the sun though. I have not seen it to cooperative in the past.
