Rush Limbaugh Compares Electing Obama To Drunken Vegas Marriage

Well, if anyone has experience w/ hastily-entered-into & ill-conceived marriages, it's El Rushbo.

Rush Limbaugh gives a bad name to the term "conservative." As far as his comments about NOW, I think he has been saying that for years and I think he is right about his opinion of them.

I really got my hopes up when it was reported that Rush said he'd move to Costa Rica if Health Care passed.

I was disappointed to find that he'd just said he'd go to Costa Rica for his health care if Health Care passed.

He didn't say specifically whether he'd still get his oxycontin in the U.S.

Is it a form of voyeurism when you listen to / watch people you plain don't like and can't relate to at all.........like, all the time??

When someone calls out Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity/etc. The response is either

(1) do you even listen to L/B/H/etc.--I mean really listen? I'll bet most folks who criticize L/B/H/etc. Have never even listened to them.
Or
(2) you must be really obsessed w/ L/B/H/etc.--you must watch or listen to them all the time.

Lynnie,
In my case, it's not never, & it's not all the time, but any suggestions for helping me find the Fair & Balanced ?Goldilocks? position would be greatly appreciated.

I don't agree. if I'm a voyeur, I'm going to be watching something that gets me off. This is more like rubber necking at a train wreck, perhaps with a bag of popcorn in hand. No doubt it is entertaining though!!

I could choose to only watch & listen to stuff--all the time--that simply reinforces my existing point of view?but I don't.

Sometimes, I try to sample from sources that challenge my point of view. In my case, that includes watching Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity/etc., from time to time.

It also includes exchanges on this forum. I really appreciate articulate & well-informed posts, even when they take positions contrary to mine.

That said, I find a lot of Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity to be intellectually dishonest; too often, they seem to start w/ the conclusion & then construct & pick & choose "reasons" to justify their conclusions.

I'm not saying "my side" is immune from this, but there are really no high-profile liberal counterparts to L/B/H et. al.

I always consider the source...especially in this case:

Link to Article comes from Medai Matters. Media Matters for America (or MMfA) is a progressive media watchdog group organized as a non-profit organization. Founded in 2004 by journalist and author David Brock, Media Matters describes itself as "a web-based, not-for-profit, progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting- conservative misinformation in the U.S. media." Media Matters for America defines "conservative misinformation" as "news or commentary presented in the media that is not accurate, reliable, or credible and that forwards the conservative agenda." Eric E. Burns is the president of the organization.
