Hello! I am new to this forum but have lived here since I was a kid. I was raised in FWB, a graduate of Choctaw High Class of '98 (Go Big Green!), then Okaloosa Walton Community College (when it was still a cc) then on to Florida State University Panama City Beach Campus, which I can not recommend highly enough!

My husband and I met when we worked together at Tibs Seafood Cafe in 1998 (dont any of you miss that Happy Hour?!?), and since then have traveled the country, never to find a better home. Even after a stint in Snowmass/Aspen CO, which was NICE, I still took a deep fresh breath of ocean air when we headed over the bridge in our Uhaul on our move back into town. :) Finally home....now raising our children in a small piece of paradise off 30A.

Hey, we all own a piece of this place, whether local or not, a memory, a smell, a sound or a sight, it is special, in an unspoken way.

I am especially proud of the area's inspiration on the growth of local music and arts. Even celebrated musicians and artists who travel here to create, to find inspiration....the growth and the recognition of what we have here in our small beach town, it is incredible to see. I have seen this area go from woodlands to highway, but we have maintained the small beach community essential to our existence here. The retreat that artists (and tourists ;) long for, the quiet the locals stay for. I believe it will always remain, condo after condo, new walmart, new publix, we will always have the real SoWal, it will never fade away.

Glad to join the forum, much more to come...hey I'm a new local business owner too! Must network!!!
