Finding a church around here is like finding hay in a haystack.

I have lived all over the country and have never experienced this kind of negative response when asking for a recommendation for a church. All I can say is it saddens me. My family and I derive comfort in tough times in our churches of the past, and we are needing one now. If you don't believe in God and the church that's fine with me, please just keep your disrespectful comments to yourself. Rather than helping my family out with a recommendation for a place to fellowship with others and worship God you chose to mock the church. I'm feeling sad that I live in a community where people snipe at each other over peoples freedom to worship as they please.

Maybe the best bet is to find some like-minded people you know in real life and ask them what church they attend. On SoWal.com there is such a fascinating and diverse set of viewpoints, that I'm sure such a person or persons exist. The only problem is, it could take you about a month to figure out who among us is on the same page as you. Really, the best place for you to find such people is probably in church, which makes it a Catch-22. If it were me I would jump around and try a bunch of them except for the obviously denominational ones. Then I would try to find some non-members at the church and talk to them for recommendations.

Happy,

I know now a few people at Crosspoint and Simple Faith, as folks have said before. Both seem wonderful. You'll be church hopping, regardless, until you find what's right for you. DM me for other suggestions.

This is is a great time of the year to take your Bible (or read off of your iPhone even!) and plunk down early in the morning on a patch of sand in the middle of Grayton Beach Park. The Spirit will guide you.

:) R

ps aside from the trolls on this forum, most locals are really nice.
