Looks like Amelia Island

Well it looks like we'll be moving to Amelia Island.
Going there for a visit next week to make sure, but unless something dramatic happens in the hear future, I think it's a done deal that Amelia Island will be our new home.
The husband will probably have to move there sometime next month, but the younger kid and I will stay here until he graduates from high school.
So I will still be the east side neighbor for awhile yet. ;-)

I could see retiring in Amelia Island. It's got beaches (granted, not nearly as pretty as on the Panhandle), but Jacksonville has got better medical facilities (including Mayo Clinic) and more shopping opportunities. It's also not as likely to have a hurricane as the Panhandle.

It's also not far from Gainesville, so we could have season tickets.

I don't know why but I thought Amelia Island was just a little further east in the Panhandle..not. Cil, you'll almost be a bulldog!!! hehe I look forward to hearing about the area there too.

our favorite vacation spot! I love it there! the beaches and parks are absolutely beautiful. just as gorgeous as sowal, and more. it's a special place.
