Mail order charity brownies for holiday gifts and profit goes to St. Jude Hospital

I just found a company from Maine that makes gift brownies and gives the profits to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. So, I'm now switching my mail order holiday presents to this company. I've never ordered from them before so I don't know how good they are, but the brownies sound delicious. I called the company and asked how much actually goes to St. Judes and they say that $10 of the $18 gift goes to St. Judes and more goes for the larger gift (some of the money goes to supplies and labor for making the brownies). The mail order brownies are posted on the St. Jude's website, not the company's website. The company is called "Simply Divine Brownies" and it's a 3 year old company so I'm going to support them this year. What a great way to support a cause. This made my day.

By the way, how many of you remember the Danny Thomas show "Make Room for Daddy"? I even remember the little singing foreign exchange student from Italy - Piccola Pupa. Anyway, Danny Thomas started St. Jude's children's research hospital in appreciation for his success.

I may have to sacrifice, too. I'll be sending two orders out for holiday food presents today. I like supporting small businesses and businesses that give a portion of their profits to charity. I usually send sour cream coffee cakes from a local Michigan business called Zingerman's (they're fantastic). Zingerman's is extremely successful (so they don't need my mail order this year and we support them throughout the year) and also contributes significantly to local charities. They started something called Food Gatherers that has trucks that pick up food from local restaurants (and we have lots of them in town) and delivers the foods to places that serve the homeless and people in need.

I remember that show some but mostly I watched, 'That Girl'. Remeber her boyfriend? Was it Donald Hollingsworth? What was her name on the show? I can't remember right now.

I loved That Girl, too. I remember her well. It was a new era for women in TV. I couldnt find a photo of Piccola Pupa from the Danny Thomas show, though.
