Do not use duct tape! Hubby says that just won't work. He thinks a roofer would take a strips of wood along the perimeter of the tarp and nail those in to distribute the pressure. If you just nail to the tarp itself, it will tear. Disclaimer: he is not an expert in this area. You need to talk to a roofer.

Hey BR, have I given you good rep? I just tried and it blocked me. Thank you to you and hubby, however!

XOXO

And, as my luck would have it today: I eyed the spot on the ceiling again and wouldn't you know tarp is in wrong placement! ARGH~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The water almost never hits the ceiling where the leak is. The best way to find it is to go up on the roof and use a garden hose starting at the bottom and working your way up until you see it dripping.

Yeah, you're right about that. I am just nervous nelley and wanted all of it covered.....

I actually went into the attic to see if I could spy a water pattern running down a rafter, etc. All was fine until I saw three of the most ginormous, hideous buggs on the face of the earth! These were like Madagascar Cockroaches.......gave me the shivers! I almost killed myself getting out of there~~~~~

I think I found the problem and there is also a loose shingle? How does that happen all by itself? My friend came back over and placated me......all is fine!! ;-)

Y'all, this has somehow turned into a comedy of errors now~~~ well, welcome to my world. My worker appeared today, but I was in a meeting all day, so I tried esplainin' to him over the phone what we had done yesterday, he was going to take care of the rest of it......getting rope, etc. Consider this: we have a minor language barrier over the phone; in person, we are fine.....lots of laughs!

I get home and he's somehow covered up the chimney??? I said, take the tarp right up next to it. WTH???? It's a great night for a fire......I'd better not!

So, my friend who came over twice yesterday just happened to call and I esplained new developments to him. He dropped by, inspected and moved a couple of things!!!!!!!!

Worker coming over in the morning so I can show him the leak inside and in the attic. Hopefully, this will be done by Wed.????? Wish me luck! ;-)
