What a wonderful movie. I warn you though, bring kleenex with you when you go see it. I love Owen Wilson and he was awesome in this movie. He and Jennifer Aniston were perfect together.

Mr Seagrover wanted to take Whitey and me - I just couldn't do it. I cried so much when I read the book, I couldn't breathe - think I will wait a while.

I don't think I can do it. I'm sure it's a wonderful story, but I just can't do it right now.

Marley reminded me of Milly.
I didn't read the book, but I had heard about it and sort of knew what to expect. It was still hard for me though. It is such a special story though about that unconditional love we have for our fur babies. Maybe you can wait until it comes out on DVD, then watch it at home.

My 8 year old son really wants to see it. He misses our lab Amber very much and still cries over her sometimes (he wants a new dog though which I've been told is the healthy way to react). She was 12 when she died three months ago.

I haven't read the Marley book, but my understanding is that Amber in her younger years was a lot like Marley.

Should he see this movie? He is begging me. I don't mind saying no but I want to give him a good reason.

I am not a psychologist (if they are out there please chime in), but I think he should see it, or you should rent it after the holidays. At 8 years olds you can help add to his emotional development when it comes to honoring all family members, their life's contributions, and their existence. A discussion before and after the movie can help him become more acutely aware of the natural cycle of life and death and the grieving process, in an age appropriate level.

I am in my 50's, read the book and cried over how much Marley reminded me of Mamie, my 13 year old Border Collie I had to put down 3 weeks ago. I swore I could NOT see the movie at all, but have now changed my mind--and I can still learn a thing or 2 about the grieving process!!

Milly has had some looks that have looked like the pic of marley on the front cover. Mr Seagrover said someone has called her Marley when they were out.

I still need to wait. I am the one that had to take Catfish in last year when Mr Seagrover was away - Catfish waited until he was gone to leave this world. Catfish knew he couldn't handle it.

I try not to sob in public. I will wait until it's on DVD. That way I can cry and not have to drive home all wet.
