That wasn't the lead, it was later in the article - I just posted parts of the article and gave a link to the full article.

Those phrases are actually pretty common - hence my current level of disgust.

Sorry, I did the link after my post. I actually think the writer could spend some time looking in the mirror. There is a video on youtube of some people with McCain signs marching through the streets of Manhattan...the jeers, boos, insults and midlle fingered salutes hurled by the sidewalk cafe urban sophisticats rivals the reception protestant marchers recieve strolling through Catholic neighborhoods in Belfast:roll:

I don't think Obama needs to be hoping anything at this point. McCain on the other hand has his work cut out for him getting support from all his fellow "prisoners" :rotfl: True , Ayers was involved in some hard core vandalism, but then how many planes did McCain destroy?:rotfl:
You know, I've had just about enough of you and your sick, over the top humor and other rancor. For your information, I was damn near one of those "prisoners" and do not take kindly to ANY humorous reference to "prisoners" held by the Vietnamese, Germans or Japanese. Where do you come from, anyway? Hardcore vandalism? Is that what you call trying to bomb the Pentagon and Capitol? Is this considered a personal attack? You bet! If you can't be civil about ANYONE's service to their country then I can certainly tell you how I feel about your useless posts. What's this about how many planes McCain destroyed? What did you mean, anyway. A lot of us lost planes in Vietnam and still regret it to this day and, yes, I was one of those. I'll close by saying this. Please make your posts civil and I will not find it necessary to respond in this manner. I don't believe in the "ignore" button as I've said previously, but if anyone ever did deserve it, it is you, Lucifer Sam. Your screen name is very apropo.

I'd LOVE to see BOTH candidates denouncing rude or negative behavior. Why it needs to reach that level and why people behave like that is beyond me. :dunno:

you are right about people and their rude behavior, however, when it happens at a rally right in front of the candidate - well that is an entirely different matter. the candidate cannot direclty control what happens in another town or another country (although he/she can help set a positive tone for their supporters to adopt), but they can and should control what happens at their own rallies.

Obama supporters know for certain what is expected regarding decorum and respect for the opponent. it is one reason we are supporters.

Philosophically I am usually in agreement with Sam, but Sam this is over the top and crosses the line, I feel. There are always broader audiences that we need to empathize with.
