I don't have a publixFYI everyone....if you buy hamburger at Publix, the hamburger made by the butcher, on site is labeled "market beef". Please check the label, as this is what the butchers take home to their families. If there is no extra fresh meat to grind, market beef is not always available, so you have to ask for it. Privately and off the record, one of the butchers at my local Publix told me that he would not eat the hamburger made at the processing facility that is shipped to the store. Very few customers know this, so test me on this one and ask the butcher at the store.
How do you tell if the hamburger meat is made at a processing facility? Is that the stuff that's in opaque tubes with a lot of writing on it, as compared to the stuff on styrofoam covered with plastic wrap? Is the latter what you call "market beef"?FYI everyone....if you buy hamburger at Publix, the hamburger made by the butcher, on site is labeled "market beef". I don't have a publixbut I never buy meat at walmart and usually not at kroger. I'm lucky to have 2 small meat markets near by.
all the styrofoam/plastic wrapped Publix hamburger meat is sent in processed except for the hand made stuff made in the store called "market beef". The hamburger they sell that's not labeled "market beef" could be from multiple bovine donors, and since I'm having tacos tonight, I don't want to go there. How do you tell if the hamburger meat is made at a processing facility?
