You ever notice whenever a politician makes the news for doing something wrong or controversial if it's a Republican it's always mentioned in the first sentence? If it's a Democrat you can scour the article without any mention of his political affiliation.

It's to the point where if they don't mention it you know it's a Democrat. Does anyone else notice little things like this?

I wouldn't exactly call a sports blog news or compare it to a major publication, though it was poor reporting IF you think it's more important to know which party they belong to, rather than the fact they are untruthful.

There are many out there who were misidentified as dems, who were republicans by many major outlets. Foley and Sanford are just two that were identified as dems when they were not by FOX and CNN.

I'm much more tolerant of mistakes made on the fly with TV than I am with printed news. Show me a news org that doesn't have these errors.

Print has plenty of time to fact check. The fact that I see it time and time again in print leads me to believe it's done on purpose. Didn't Journolist just recently admit to manipulating the News to get Obama elected?

Articles about scandals from members of ALL parties have killed forests of trees.

Alicia is right, the guy is a sportswriter, and after spending many, many years as a sportswriter, I can tell you that sports departments are not political. Most of the time, when talking about the political reporters it was to make fun of them for thinking that election night deadlines were a big deal, when we were used to filing game stories at midnight at least once a week.

Sports departments=more funn.

You gave a link to an internet article, not print to my knowledge, since it was on YAHOO to try and prove your point. Now you want to change the point or are the conservatives at Digg controlling the news articles this week? A mistake on the fly???? They're a political news station and they can't identify what party a gov belongs to before they run it? Every other new channel could. It wasn't a MISTAKE, it was a move in my opinion, like splicing footage of meetings and making them look bigger.

You see what you want to see, and if you don't, you change the channel till you see what reaffirms your beliefs. That has become the American way.

As far as tolerance, I have it for both side as an independent, but I disagree that one side is getting a pass. Papers are in the business of selling papers, period, not choosing sides, although many have been famous and open for supporting one side or another.

Yes internet and print are one of the same if you are not performing in a "live" arena. There is proper time to research before publication. Pictures are routinely altered anyways and is far from fact.

Internet and print are not the same from where I work. Internet and TV are live, but hold the presses still get shouted out from time to time.

It was a few weeks ago I heard and they are not the first or the last to influence a presidency if it is all true, imho.
Editors have been controlling content more than writers ever have and if we have a Republican president in 2012 it will be because of the media to a point as it always has been. I respectfully disagree that anyone is controlling your content, due to the fact you can choose your content along with the millions of others out there. case in point:

Google: dems misidentified as republicans
dems misidentified as reps - Google Search

and the opposite:

republicans misidentified as democrats - Google Search

and tell me what you find. I found FOX has done it 7 times now. Who is leading who?

Please understand, I don't watch tv period and I could care less who anyone else chooses to watch or believe, but I disagree that the Dem are getting a pass.
