Michael Zavison Bio:
Born in 1951, of first generation Americans, Michael lived his entire
childhood among the fast paced city of Chicago. Always admiring the
coastline of lake Michigan, the larger than life city scape and the
collection of ethnic communities, he learned quite young that there was a
world of adventure and beauty to experience. At the age of 17 Michael
enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Viet Nam war where he actively
engaged in the extreme life that, for him, had always been apart of his
natural makeup.

After his term in the Marines, Michael attended a small Christian college in
Northwest Florida where he received a Theology degree. His journey of faith
proved more valuable than previously thought. The beauty of the Gulf Coast
provided him with opportunity both visually and physically. This is where
Michael began working with high-end wall coverings and speciality paint
techniques. Continuing his quest for adventure and distain for the mediocre,
Michael returned to Chicago to work with Marshall Field and Company in their
interior design department. It was here his visual arts education
flourished.

Now a professional interior design contractor, Michael moved to Atlanta and
opened his own business. Working for some of the most noted interior design
firms, Michael found himself in the company of a very famous client list, Sir
Elton John among the most famous. But as fate would have it, Michael found
himself longing once again for adventure and sometimes extreme adventure. It
was then he moved back to the Gulf Coast, leaving a business he had built for
25 years. Back in Florida, Michael purchased a 32 foot Contessa sailing
vessel and single handedly sailed the ocean. He often stated that the ocean
can disconnect one from the safe and familiar and open one up to something
deep within you.
