oh no! I hope she's going to be okay.


cloudy and drizzly today. what a break from the heat! the weather was weird last night with a very humid coolness.

I hope so too. She's 37 with three children that she had just picked up from school. Can you imagine how awful that was for the kids?

It's weird, but we're enjoying the rain at the beach too. Lots of napping for me to get rested up for the upcoming semester. The other times we've been here this summer it's been so hot that we'd stay home as much as possible just to avoid getting into a hot black car.

It has been a relaxing week. I'm looking forward to sweatshirt weather at the beach. The "off-season" should really be the "on-season" because that's the best time to be at the beach. We even like January at the beach. Definitely fall is the best time at the beach in our opinion. If someone is renting, it's worth taking the kids out of school a couple of days to enjoy the weather and the low rates.

We got teased with a little rain early Wednesday morning. We need about a foot more.

I'm going to a sale in the morning at my favorite antique/shabby chic shop and then resting up for what should be a funn night. Big slumber party with six crazy blond women. We all used to work together and haven't seen much of each other in ages. There might be drinking involved, maybe some smoking and even some cussing.

We really need rain in GA. Irrigation systems don't even do the trick when it's this dry.

Yesterday there was a brief, strong, and windy rainstorm that lasted less than an hour and gave us over an inch of rain. That type of rain usually doesn't do much good because it doesn't soak into the ground.

Unfortunately the sister of one of my colleagues was injured as a result of the storm. A huge branch fell from a tree and hit her vehicle. She suffered a severe brain injury and had to be helicoptered to a large hospital for surgery. Her two children were in the vehicle and suffered no physical injuries.

OMG, so sorry, She is in my prayers.
