Good lord! You would think some of us did not even have to work around here. Can't leave him alone for five minutes.

The rest of you are very funny too! :)blush:)

I have a question....why? :dunno: It's not even Easter time.

Oh, she keeps saying her "back side is too big" and needs to diet. But Kitty, it maybe that she is trying to get a jump on easter this year. But first she has to boil one egg without burning it. :rotfl: I think the Publix's and Micro wave idea's maybe the ticket to keep the house from burning down.

BB it's a trick, just go to Publix and look in the Dairy section. They have pre-boiled eggs. ;-)

Nope.... she told me she has already tried the Publix pre-cooked boiled eggs and they were terrible. I think what I am going to do is just order one of those hen houses for the back yard, 'cause I know she is going to burn a whole bunch of eggs before she is successful in cooking one that is worthy of consumption :funn:

They only have to cook for 2 minutes. Maybe she won't burn the house down in that length of time. ;-)

  • 1 dozen large eggs
  • Water to cover
  • Pinch salt
Directions

Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Season with a pinch of salt. Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cover with a lid. Allow the eggs to sit for 11 minutes. Drain and cool the eggs for 2 minutes in ice water. Drain and peel the eggs.

It's all fun and games until you come home to find yourself the proud new owner of a Le Corneau custom egg boiler! :D

Cover with cool water and bring to boil. As soon as they start boiling well, TURN OFF THE HEAT and allow to sit, covered, for 12 minutes. "Flush" pan with cool water. This helps to prevent the nasty but harmless green ring around the yolk.

Well dang, that's about the same as KDW said. I'm glad to know that, because Fuzz stands over my shoulder and says "that's not how Grandma does it." But Grandma has green yolks ("it won't hurt you"), so there.
