Waterbaddrinkwine:

These are the dates that we have sprayed in Pt Washington since April:

April 4/13 4/16 4/19 4/23 & 4/26

May 5/5 5/10 5/24 5/31

June None

July 7/21 7/25 7/28

August 8/1

Spray times varied between 6:15 and 8:45pm

I will know what the trap counts were later today and will post whether you will be sprayed tonight later this afternoon.

UPDATE:

Trap Counts in Pt. Washington were 43. Anything above 25 warrants spraying. The trap counts in Point Washington were 16 on Friday which means we have had another hatch.

Pt. Washington is schedule to be sprayed tonight weather permitting. Wind speed must be below 10mph and no rain.

The Asian Tiger mosquito has been in Walton County since 1988. Not exactly what I would describe as "relatively new" - they have now been here for 23 years.

Did you read post #5 before posting?

It's relatively new to my piece of land. My first experience with it was a few months ago while working outside. Stephen filled me in on the data. Before, it was the Salt Marsh mosquitoes.

As I recall, my culvert had collapsed on the road, causing an unusual amount of water to run off on to my property. That, and the removal of the ditches on JD Miller Rd. causing a lot of standing water over there. At any rate, more mosquitoes than usual. Didn't have a problem with the Asian Tiger until then.
