Who / What site do you use?
I'm a luddite. Hear a tune I like, I buy the CD. 9 times out of 10, there's at least one or two more on there I end up liking. Rip the tracks I really like off the CD and then leave them hanging around to dump into the little Rio or whatever. Artists are happy, I'm happy, and my musical tastes are regularly extended a bit. ;-)

I try to support local business whenever possible, knowing sometimes that it costs more. I look at the extra costs as the cost of creating new relationships with the people inside. Therefore, I usually by my music from the music store in Seaside. On the occasion when I download, I use Realplayer. It is also a useful source for discovering new artists whom I would not have otherwise heard about.

I have been doing the same thing for 39 years. Time for a change

On the money - said well as usual.
The other reason I tend to avoid D/L is there's always a degree of (pollution) risk, though I'll give you that is reasonably minimal in most commercial venues. Generally speaking, the get-it-now digital download everything connected everywhere thing - from tunes and ringtones through the whole spectrum - is a target rich environment for techno exploiters of all sorts.

Change the "I" to "You" and I'm hearing an echo of my version of GraytonBound. :laughing1
Fair enough (and maybe I'll tear a page out of your book as well). I'll ask around at work tomorrow. Most of my fellow tech-heads are so darn totally wired they glow in the dark. At least a couple of them will be into music D/L & have done the due dilligence.

99.9% of the time I do the same thing. I refuse to go to a Walmart I buy local when I can. But I am growing tired of buying a whole cd based on 1 or 2 songs and have to suffer through the rest of the crap on that cd.
