My Honey's Coming Home!

Well I am quite jealous as my child is in college 8 hours away and won't be home until mid October. My husband travels quite a bit so "empty nest" isn't that grand at this point. I am just grateful for this board. My family laughs at the enjoyment I have on it.

I hear ya. I spend a lot of time on this board. My husband just got back from Europe and spends about a week per month in Asia. My daughter is just up the road at Georgia Tech, but I rarely hear from her. She's having too much fun. I miss the hell out of her. I work (by choice - I have a doctorate and love my areas of expertise), but it means that I don't have time to hang out with the girls. It's no fun to dine alone, so when my husband is gone, I just eat whatever is in the refrigerator/pantry (cereal, cheese sandwiches, salads), bring my work home at night, and watch CNN.

It's good to have my husband home. We're SO excited about the UF game tomorrow! We have to make an appearance at my daughter's sorority house for a parents weekend barbeque and the GT game, so we decided that we can't have any beer before noon. LOL. We're leaving the game early so we can totally focus on watching the Gatorsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

My daughter is in NC at Davidson. She is having way to much fun and went to the mountains this weekend. Really, I am glad she has the opportunity to be there. I am taking a few more classes for another certification so it helps to keep me occupied.

Enjoy the game and BBQ. Even though I am from TN, my blood doesn't run orange.....not too popuular around here. May the Gators win!

You are making me lonely - my husband has been gone for two weeks to NYC and doesn't get home for another. Can't wait till his flight next Saturday. I usually enjoy the first week of alone time but after that it gets way too quiet around the house. I am headed out to the marina this afternoon to hook up with some friends of ours for an afternoon of boating. :clap_1: It is nice to have married friends that don't forget about you when our husband leaves!!!

I get more belly laughs from this board than anywhere else. Some of the posters here--and you know who you are!!!!--are better than any stand-up comics I've ever heard.

Did he have his quarters with him???? Sounds like he hasn't set foot in the laundry room at college! I remember it was close to three weeks before mine called home and asked a laundry question....don't you just love boys!!!!
