Michigan but someday in SoWal as well
Isn't Vernaccia from a nice little hill town in Tuscany called San Gimignano (sp?), known to be the town of 100 towers. Perhaps we can market SoWal as coast with 100 boardwalks and get our own wine label...

Paula, Yes. SG is a fabulous charming hill town with lots of delightful cafes and shops. We like to rent a villa there overlooking the town and valley.
Cool idea about a SoWal wine label!

We've been there and thought it was a great town. We can't use the little bowls we bought because they're full of lead in the paint, though.

Vernaccia di San Gimignano is Tuscany?s premier white wine. It comes from the famous and ancient village of San Gimignano whose renaissance towers (one was measured by the height of one?s tower, so to speak) were the skyscrapers of their day. The wine is made from a local grape called Vernaccia and tends to be soft and full with pleasant complimentary acidity. Though not as accomplished as Tuscany?s reds, Vernaccias are not overly expensive, and will at least offer a measure of respite from another evening of Chardonnay.

Not me - Google -

SoWalSally, You always have something good to contribute. Thanks for the posts earlier on the condition of the beaches.
Vernaccia is a good break from Chard.

I just noticed your locations - not bad places to be huh?

Kurt, thanks. We enjoy our homes...I am eager to get down to Seaside soon. We have had a colleague staying there this last week and i have one of my banker's and his family staying there this week. I am sorry for them that the beach is so crummy, but still you have lots of good food, wine, biking, etc.
