This is a bit long...so don't watch unless you have about 5 minutes..it is pretty amazing!

"It's been called one of the greatest nature videos of all time -- all caught on tape ... by accident. You may have seen it featured on iCaught last night; a pride of lions attacks a young buffalo. While working to take down their prey, a crocodile attempts to wrestle the kill away from the lions -- a tug-of-war ensues. And just when that ends, the herd of buffalo returns to rescue their own. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? We wouldn't have believed it either, but here it is"

as much as I love you,

I HATE THAT VIDEO!

I had one of my high school kids send it to me this summer, and I sent her my feelings on it. She said, "Oh! But the baby lived! Isn't that great?"

It had just been pulled apart by lions, only to be snatched by a croc! There is no freakin' way that baby lived much longer after the camera man went on his way to put it on YouTube. He was hyena poop by the next day.

Very surprised to see the buffalo come back like that. Interesting.

You are right, the lions will be eating the young one soon enough. That is some crazy video!

The animal kingdom has shown us that even the weak are worth trying to rescue. Also shows the power of what "sticking together" can accomplish. Great video.

I thought it was pretty amazing. This happens in nature all the time. It is the circle of life. I found it quite unusual that the water buffalo came back as a herd. I had no idea that they were that nurturing with the young. There is no way of knowing what truly happend to the calf, but the effort was pretty incredible to see.
Of course, I used to love watching mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.

It sure looks like there are plenty of starving hungry critters in that corner of the world.
