Folks have replied with useful resources if you want to do this yourself...

PM me if you would like me to do this for you. I am a software consultant so I don't do websites for a living but based on what you said you needed, I am happy to help...

Cheers, George

Check with your internet provider. I'm with Earthlink. A small amount of webhosting space is included in our monthly service. It was enough to create a website for our beach house. (5 pages, 7-8 photos) Additionally, they have a program with templates to walk you through setting up a webpage. It's very easy. If you want your own URL, you'll have to get it through Godaddy. But the rest can usually be done (Free!) through your ISP.

Good Luck!

Godaddy.com has a great price on buying a url, but I found their web-building pages were not user-friendly. I bought their 'make a website in a night' and ended up calling for a refund. And, if you buy your url from godaddy (or any other site for that matter), the url cannot be transferred for 60 days. So, don't buy your url until you have decided on hosting or you'll have to wait a couple of months to get your site up.

Check out www.WaterColorBeachRental.com.

I built this site completely (photos, copy, links, etc.). If you (or anyone else out there!) is interested in having me do this for you, please PM me. I can register your url for you, design, and host for a very reasonable price. Websites are a great marketing tool for small businesses, realtors, etc. or would be great to have for families (like a reunion or new baby) and events (like weddings or bar/bat mitzvahs).

Thanks, ya'll!

I will second www.GoDaddy.com. I don't have a personally created website right now, but I have used them in the past for myself and I am currently creating my husband's site with them. They are thorough, inexpensive & very helpful with a great deal of things. I have used BellSouth (only for billing convenience in ATL) and it was a nightmare, including the fact that they aren't releasing my hubby's domain name to godaddy right now. This has been an issue since Sept, but luckily godaddy has options in regards to that and they have solved the whole problem that I am having.

HTH!

If you buy a domain name through GoDaddy.com you can get "Website Tonight" site builder software as part of their deal. It is really inexpensive compared to anything else I found online.

It seems to be one of the easiest site building packages available, as you don't have to learn any HTML coding. I'm using it now, but our site is under construction so you won't see anything yet at www.firedupseaside.com

Just go to www.GoDaddy.com and take a look...

Or call Kurt, his websites always look better than most anyone elses in SoWal! :D
