Maybe the powers that be are bringing an NFL Europe franchise to Panama City to give the European property buying masses something to do between closings?:dunno:

True, since there are going to be direct flights from new PC airport to London, Berlin and Paris when it opens.

 I'll believe it when I see it.
Not to rain on anyone's publicity hype, but how many airports in the US actually have direct daily flights to London, Berlin, and Paris?

I'd be happy if I could get a direct flight to Chicago or one to ATL that left on time.

I think there are only three or four people on the board who really understand how airports work. Monkees will fly out of my butt before there is regularly scheduled service to any of those cities...

if the new airport is not going to be having flights to new cities why are they building one since there is already one in panama city? I thought St. Joe was doing it to try and get new buyers right?

not right. they are building the new airport based on future demand, and for reasons to develop land which otherwise has little interest to investors.

Los Angeles will have a team eventually. A stadium has been cleared for construction,a recent lawsuit has been cleared and the investors are ready to go. However, the NFL has stated there will be no more expansion teams(more to share between only 32 owners).

The owners would like to see L.A have a team due to the financial rewards of the second largest television market in the country(even more money to share). This all means that some city out there will be losing their team. My guess is the Saints, due to the small television market. Although, there is now a population decrease in the area due to Katrina, the television market share is what the league and owners care about.

Louisiana has reached a suppossed deal to keep the team but that doesn't mean anything. My opinion is that it is the first phase of the blame game. Other teams out there for consideration are Vikings,Titans, and some others to mention a few.

As for Panama City...... television market share is sandwiched between three teams, Saints,Falcons,Bucs. Then there is the issue of building a stadium.

Then again, the Florida panhandle could always succeed from Florida, annex Alabama, and there you have it. However, you may have better luck convincing the NFL owners to abandon the lucrative L.A TV market for a grass field on Back Beach Rd.:rotfl:

Why does the tv market matter? In Atlanta, they black out the Falcons' games to try and encourage people to attend the games.

The profit divided up by the owners for the broadcast rights.

Currently, three networks CBS($3.73B), NBC)$3.6B) and FOX ($4.27B), as well as ESPN ($8.8B) are paying a combined total of $20.4 billion to broadcast NFL games through the 2011 season for CBS, FOX, and NBC and through 2013 for ESPN. However, the league imposes several strict television policies to ensure that stadiums are filled and sold out, to maximize TV ratings, and to help leverage content on these networks.

So, if you were one of the 32 owners, would you want to see a team in the L.A market or the P.C market?
