Oh, we're going to miss Nick's in Blue Mountain Beach but we're also happy for Bonnie and Frank Nick, owners of the family seafood restaurant for many years! The restaurant's last day will be Sunday June 25. They open at 4pm.

How many Friday night dinners, happy hours at the bar, big birthdays and family celebrations have we held here throughout the years?

I'll always remember the Fattie Hattie plate, named for Hattie Nick. I order it every time and plan to do so one more time. Old Nick and Miss Hattie opened the original Nick's Seafood Restaurant in Freeport in 1963.

I'll never forget this seafood house on the hill - it's been here for as long as I can remember. Serving some great southern style fresh seafood and some of the best fried shrimp anywhere, with slaw and baked potato - or blue crab fresh out of the bay... the kind of seafood joint that's slowly fading away but not entirely. See you at Nick's on the Bay with Trey Nick!

Expect a new condo development coming to this prime location in Blue Mountain Beach. The quiet west side of Scenic 30A is growing but still beautiful and filled with some of our favorite beaches, shops and restaurants.

Don't know details. It will be a while. We had dinner there tonight. Heard the building may be rented to a restaurant for a while.

Two giant blue marlins are for sale. Plus some church benches.

It's amazing to me how we had the foresight to make scenic 30a what it is and retain all of the natural areas. Where is that vision now? What do we want our home to look like in the future? Every time I see a new area clear cut and replaced with developments, I wonder why we don't have the vision and the fortitude required to continue to preserve what makes our area unique and special.

Sadly the steamed blue crab off the menu for years @ beach. Reason folks lingered to long eating. Gotta turn those tables.

I'm happy for the Nicks they deserve to retire but what's with the "two" billboards that were placed on the property right after the sale? Doesn't anyone respect the 30A sign ordinance? Certainly code enforcement can't miss these....
