I'm sure I'll be talking about our trip for weeks. We had so much fun and got to see so much. I'd never been past Grayton on 30a before. The last time we stayed in Seacrest and didn't venture out much. This time I had to see it all. I wish we could have tried more restaurants but the budget didn't allow it this time. We ate at Seagrove Market, Brunos for pizza, Shades in Seaside and the Red Bar. We also ate at Capt. Kidds in Destin but I wasn't going to mention that. It was not my pick and happened to be the most expensive. I added a few of my 243 pictures that I took to my album. I'll add a few more later, I wouldn't want to overwhelm anyone. The moon was soooo cool on the beach, a really neat time to be there.

What a nice looking family you are! And what a relief you're not all dressed in white. When we were staying at a cottage near Eastern Lake last month, a huge family trouped onto the sand...all dressed in white, whether they were eight months old, eight years old, or eighty. Naturally, a photographer was in tow.

My kids and their friends thought it was a little weird. I thought it'd make a great Clorox commercial.

I thought the same thing, What a nice looking happy family, and great photo with the full Moon rising over the shoulder.

Three of the four are my personal favorites. :clap_1: Blue Orleans has made my top 5 for sure.

How was Shades?? Last two times I've been there it was a long wait, lousy service, abrasive staff, food sent back, the whole bit. I hope your experience was better, but I'm so done with the place... (sorry, I rant therefore I am).

Back on topic: "Moonlight, feels right..." (Starland Vocal Band?). Of course, I concur the full moon was just spectacular, and were you in time to see the four (4!) planets aligned with the moon? It was almost horizontal in the southern sky with 3 planets to the right (west) and Mars to the left (east). Incredible and once in our lifetime, I heard. Also, heard a suggestion that it may have been the dawning of the Age of Aquarius (Fifth Dimension?). :?: I'll find those lyrics and post maybe.

Great post. Keep the best pics coming. I'll check your album in the meantime.

We were so fascinated with the moon. We didn't look for the planets. :sosad:

Shades was good, we ate at about 7:15 on Friday night with no wait and good service. Both hubby and I had the grouper sandwich and it was delicious. Adult prices aren't too bad...it's the kid's meals that kill ya.

We have not had good luck at Shades, either. In fact, it's close to PICKLES (bleech) on our list! What happened to that place...it used to have some decent food?

Shades at the corner way over cooked the RARE tuna I requested. Other than that it was good. :dunno:

Is this the new Shades? I was speaking of the Seaside Shades. Where's the new one again?
