It's good to be a boy

For a 10-day stay at the beach, I normally pack:

2 swimsuits
2 pair shorts
3 pair boxers
3-4 t-shirts
2 polo shirts
1 pair flip-flops
1 pair sandals
1 pair sneakers.
Shaving kit
Ball cap

JB, you over pack. A real guy would wear a pair of shorts, tee-shirt, shoes, hat, and pack one or two pair of extra underwear, another pair of shorts in case one pair get wet, toothpaste, toothbrush, and deod., maybe one additional tee-shirt in case the wife complains about your smelly tee-shirt.. (of course I am talking about only the clothes -- the fishing gear should be a no-brainer)

I'm the same way. But I spoil the whole convenience of packing light by also brining:

4 tackle boxes
a fishing cart
nineteen fishing rods
sand flea rake
trolling motor
batteries
crab nets
rod holders
coolers
etc......

We look like the beverly hillbillies when we come down. Last year, I took the trailer. I'm not kidding. The folks at that Chevron at 30A and 98 were laughing their butts of at me. I don't really blame them.

Awhile back I mentioned HMM and I are having this odd role reversal. He way over packs and me not so much. I have learned that I tend to wear the same things over and over...especially the "nice" clothes going out to dinner. Years ago...I would be like your wife...everything cute and matching and way over packing!! HMM calls it being prepared...old BS (Boy Scout in him) maybe!! I've already told my SIL, who is stressing a bit about packing for the LOVE BOAT..."Hope you like my nice outfit...you'll see it alot!" Downside is...I need makeup on this trip...unlike in SoWal...think I "put" it on twice while there for 5 weeks!!!

SO true about the make-up. Not sure why I do not care when I am there, but it just feels right. One of my favorite parts of the trip. A little natural color from enjoying the view also helps.

Man, that really is true!
Especially that one about the extra credit for the tiniest act of thoughtfulness, and same work, more pay.
OTOH
No matter where we travel, I pack really, really light.
I just wear a lot of beige and black separates, and leave the blow-drier at home.
