Any recommendations for hotels in the downtown area? The Sheraton Read House looks pretty good. Any better recommendations? We're thinking of going for the weekend - Sat and Sunday night.

The Chattanoogan Hotel is excellent. I have stayed at the Read House many times and it was really falling apart. I have not stayed there since the renovations. The Boathouse Raw Bar is one of my favorite restaurants. I celebrated my 19th anniversary there last week. I would rather have been in Seagrove, but I live in Chattanooga.

Bluff View is probably the best B&B downtown. Another one to consider is the Stone Fort Inn. The Reed House is suppost to be renovated now and real nice. The Chattanoogan is very nice and has a cool retro look and feel. There is a great hotel overlooking the river but I can't remember the name. I'll post when I do.
I friend of mine rents these out www.vacationrentalschattanooga.com Some are right on the river and only a 10 or 15 minute drive to downtown. The ones on the river are in the heart of the TN River Gourge. The views are amazing!
