Not a tree hunger by any means, but...

Where does NOLA pump all of the toxic waste water that is in the city right now? I hope that some official has a plan to treat that waste water or some place will be looking at an environmental disaster. :dunno:

The number one priority still is taking care of every individual down to the last one. Just a thought.

I have had the same thought. All of the shots from the fly overs show a shean of the water. Not good :sosad:

Plans? I'm sorry, do you think people actually have plans? :pissed:

I hope the Louisiana department of environmental protection has some idea of what to do. I'm sure the academics have an idea. Whether or not that is communicated to the feds is another story.

Sorry, I'm not placing blame on anyone specific right now (though I do think we need to have a commission study this pathetic response so we can assign blame properly and learn from it) but it is obvious to me that we are not close to being ready for any type of national emergency.

I can't believe what I have seen on television the past couple of days. My husband, a former Marine who was one of the first in Mogadishu in late '92, said it looks just like Somalia. In this country! Are you kidding me??

I'm not sure offical and plan enters into the equation! If disposing of the toxic waste water is "handled" like everthing to this point has been "handled".......then God help us all.:pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Why would you be worried about being labeled a tree hugger? Are you someone who is uncomfortable with the label of environmentally conscious, caring, responsible human being? Or did a "tree hugger" beat you up on the playground yesterday?

Fox,

What is your purpose?

I was creating a topic to discuss. By the way I do drive a big *ss SUV and I am concerned about the wildlife after the people are taken care of. Shoot me.

What's wrong with being a tree hugger? I hug and try to save trees all over my neighborhood all the time!!! Stand for something or you will fall for anything!!! Thanks for alerting us to another possible disaster...what will be done is anyone's guess at this point. When does it end????

This was one of my first concerns, before the disasters even started amplifying. (yes, I freely hug trees.) Will we ever have seen such a massive amount of toxic waste? I don't know. But we're talking every noxious chemical in every house and garage combined with sewage, oil and everything else that you know is floating in that water right now that i can't even bring myself to type. Oh, my friends, this will be a long road..

I'm glad that this topic was brought up. I have to admit that it didn't occur to my until yesterday that this was going to be a problem. There doesn't seem to be a good option. If that water is really that disease and chemical, is it wise to pump it into the gulf? Disgusting. And don't the currents come to us? I thought the Gulf Stream Current came to us--west to east?
