This was one of my first concerns, before the disasters even started amplifying. (yes, I freely hug trees.) Will we ever have seen such a massive amount of toxic waste? I don't know. But we're talking every noxious chemical in every house and garage combined with sewage, oil and everything else that you know is floating in that water right now that i can't even bring myself to type. Oh, my friends, this will be a long road..

Hey katie, Have you found any writing inspiration out of this?

not yet, RO. maybe this weekend though when i'm taking a much needed break in the mountains ...I've been struggling with the guilt knowing that i can escape it for a few days when so many others can't. (I lost my home and border collie to a house fire a couple years ago, so I know what it feels like to have the world pulled out from under your feet..magnify that by a million and it practically makes my head explode.)

I won't try to write until I can find a shred of hope to focus on. And that'll come, but for now we just have to turn to, and remember to breathe. the beautiful thing about our world is that from the darkness, we come again into the light...always.

Fox,

What is your purpose?

I was creating a topic to discuss. By the way I do drive a big *ss SUV and I am concerned about the wildlife after the people are taken care of. Shoot me.

The topic title strikes me as ridiculous. Hug a tree or hug your SUV, just don't buy into the stereotypes broadcast by Fox News. I bet you have it on right now.

Now who's stereotyping?

That sounds like the beginning to a beautful song to me.

Those who have been spared from this disaster must fight the feeling of guilt. Who will be left to help those in need if we are all in despair? Our lives need to go on so that those who are going through this trial can see that life does still exist and that it is worth the fight to get life back. Hope is now.

Fox,

If you do not have anything useful to contribute please do us all a favor and go somewhere else. You do not know a single thing about the people who post here. It is just a topic for discussion, get a life.
