What is your earliest childhood memory?

DD, you asked some hard questions last week. Not sure how I missed this one. Bustin' a gut over something my Big Sister said, but to this day, we can't remember what it was. I was probably three and would have made her a teenager.

But, I vividly remember helping Santa place presents under our tree. Santa wasn't in a red suit :dunno:. Daddy was in the hospital and I woke up to see if Santa had come, yet. A large man standing in our living room asked me if I wanted to help him with our presents? So, I did. He left out the front door and I ran screaming down the hall way that Santa had just come!

Only one gift was missing.....Santa was a burglar! I saved Christmas!

I was about three years old and I distinctly remember my uncle that was in the navy who was home on leave, remember him leaning against the kitchen cabinets and his white suit. I also remember a lot of kindergarten. Of course my first memory would be about clothes! :D

My closet doors in my first house? Something about sitting in my grandmother's kitchen and the phone rang? Going to the prom with Dad and coming home with Mom? (Kidding--that's a really old joke.)

I was 2 1/2 and they brought Scooterbro home. I told them to take him back!

I have a crazy memory - they used to scoff at it until they realized I knew too many random details to be remembering pictures or stories.

I have a memory of dropping food over the side of my high chair to the Boston terrier. I can even remember the pattern on the floor. Maybe I was about 2?? Beyond that, I remember my uncle having a tape recorder at Christmas and all the big people making me say stuff on it. Maybe 3-4?

The beach---We came down every wekend in the summer when I was 3 & 4 years old. We stayed on the bay at a place called Kings Motor Court. It was accross Hathaway bridge on the right going in to Panama City. We stayed in cottage #34.

My dad went out fishing with a friend who was a captain on a boat. I think his name was Howard Zediker(sp). His daughter would baby-sit my brother & me on Sat. night so they could go out.

It was a long 6 hr. ride from NoAL. in a old Ford in the early 50's with no A/C. I'll never forget those wool seat covers stinging my legs.
