Maybe you still lurk and will see this...

I thought about you today and all your advice about purging, cleaning, getting rid of stuff, etc. You'd be so proud of me. I've got the back of my car totally loaded with crap I no longer want/need, purses that I hated to part with but haven't carried in forever, shoes that should have gone many seasons ago. I've shredded papers :)wave:Kitty) til I burned up the shredder. I've done 3 loads of laundry(spring linens), and re-made the guest bedrooms.
I think it's time for you to come for a visit.

Darling DD. You must be my conscience because there's been a little voice in the back of my mind saying "spring clean! spring clean!" Now you have spurred me on. If you can do it, so will I! I'm pretty bad though. We're heading down to SoWal next month and I have a nice little pile of stuff in the corner of the cedar closet upstairs, earmarked for the condo. How's that for recycling? If I can't use it at home, stick it in the condo.

Beach Runner! I thought of you yesterday when I was thumbing through one of my magazines and saw a chomping alligator paper stapler. If you spray painted it orange and blue, it would be the perfect accessory for you.

I owe you both letters to catch up on news!

:love:You'll feel so liberated! After I finished all that, I worked in the yard for about an hour and a half. Whew!! I am one tired old woman! But, I'm so happy my closet looks great (Kitty was my inspiration) and I can find stuff.
When are you going to Sowal? Dates please.

Ditto for here, DD. My hands are raw from cutting down all the grasses and dried stalks of last year's flowers out in the yard. I need new garden gloves and a good dose of moisturizer. My hands and back ache. The weather was finally so wonderful that I couldn't bear to come in this afternoon (especially not when a million loads of laundry were waiting for me :sosad:).

I am getting a little hung up on the clutter, as in I've hit a road block. I've gotten a fair bit of it out of the upstairs and down to the basement...where it sits. I look at all this stuff that I used to love and say to myself "This crap is too good to haul down to GoodWill when I can sell it at a garage sale!" Trouble is, the pile gets bigger and the garage sale gets less and less appealing. I think I may have to get myself liberated like you and say the heck with it. Off to GoodWill it goes. Hot pink lava lamp anyone?

SoWal on tax day next month!

That's exactly what I did in the yard! And that's exactly how I feel. I took a long hot shower and have used tons of moisturizer, plus a little fake tan.
I can completely relate to your conversation with yourself...garage sale vs. Goodwill. I've said the same thing to myself. But, no more garage sales for me. Done. Not worth the effort and then you still gotta haul off all the stuff that's left. Not a lot of cash either. I just get a receipt at GW and give it to Mr. DD. Makes him happy at tax time. But, if I were there, I'd buy some of your stuff.

Oh man, I'm gonna miss you by a couple of weeks it looks like. Dammit.

DD - remember the school yard sale you visited last year or the year before? Well, you missed it this year (it was funn!). Anyway, I gave a truckload to the school for their general yard sale/fundraiser. and then I bought my own table and sold a bunch of crap!!! It was kind of funn. LOTS of people coming through. normally I would not do a yard sale, but doing it at the school with a big crowd was well worth the effort.

So, I did general spring cleaning, but lordy it never ever ends. I still have more closets and clothes to sort through. Plus, remember the photo sorting stuff we talked about a few years ago? I started the project way back when but it still waits.

Hello Mermy!!! and all!!!

Yes, I remember! I loved that sale. I can see maybe doing what you did. Just not ready for the garage thing again. I said never, but you know what they say about saying never...maybe someday. I still have stuff I could get rid of, but I made a good dent last weekend. But, you're right...it never ends.
Yes, I remember the photo sorting thing too. I did get that done. They're all organized in file boxes and labeled so the kids will know one day who the peeps are in some of those pics. Now, I need to go through all the photos on the computer upstairs and either get them printed, deleted, or sent to photobucket (do they still exist) or something like that. I'm afraid it will crash and I'll lose 'em. I use my laptop now, but there's a ton of crap on that other computer.
