Does any one have any info on the mexican restaurant that was in Freeport on 331 in the new little strip center where a vet, Radio Shack and Hungry Howies is? They have a sign saying its the old 331 Cafe.

I think that the 'old' refers to the fact that US 331 no longer runs out front, so that stretch of road is now the 'old 331.' Come to think of it, I don't know what that stretch from State Hwy 20 up to US 331 is called. Is it still State Hwy 83?

As in Oli's 3Thirty1? Oli, are you there?
We had heard that it was opened by "some guy named Oli". We thought that was odd, especially not reading about it here first, but we loved the Mexican place and went for dinner last night. It wasn't until halfway through dinner that we realized the 'old 331' was a reference to the highway and not 331 Cafe!

We asked about the owners, and the same family that ran it as Mexican is still running it, but the menu now has a decent variety of steaks, burgers, pasta & fried seafood. Their Mush Potatoes, as they call them, are very good! Buttery & red skinned...yummmmm  They were more like real potatoes than mashed, whipped potatoes. The buffalo shrimp were very good but the calarmi was nothing special. Prices are great. I love the place already!
