Bored and channel surfing ( needed a break from the NFL draft after Vince Yound went to the Titans), I came upon Miami VIce. What a flashback! It is funny to see what was so cool in the eighties...it is a 48 hour marathon...

Back in the day, my friends and I had "tea" parties....may need to go to the loquor store soon :D

I lived in Miami when they started filming and I wondered who those 2 guys were in the convertible with the guns on Brickell Avenue. :D
DJ was going to buy Big Bryan's house on Venetian Causway...I guess it was not big enough for him at the time...:dunno: :rotfl:or was it little Bryan's house right next door??????:dunno:

I loved the old Miami Vice; I thought it was very good, certainly progressive for its day. I loved the music, the imagery, South Beach.
Those old shows epitomize the glitzy 80's.
Who could forget the t-shirts under the rolled-up Armani jacket sleeves!
Actually, I love all of director Michael Mann's stuff. He is remaking Miami Vice as a feature film but it will take place in the present--no pastels allowed. ;-)
The film will star Colin Farell and Jamie Foxx, and will come out this summer.

I bet Phil Collins won't be in it either.

I don't understand why they are making it present day. Cocaine is not nearly a big deal as it was then. Maybe Crockett and Tubbs will be busting crack dealers.

I would rather see a comic remake with Stiller and Wilson - oh wait, that's been done.

Actually, I can live without Phil. ;-)
Here's the plot summary for Miami Vice 2006: Yup, drug trafficking

Hah!
That was one movie in which I had never much watched the original TV show.
But I did think the remake was pretty funny.
