I did - still was unclear if it was from the tax breaks expiring (ala Mango's #15) or "new Obamafied" legislation.
I can only say one thing for certain. Come Jan. 1, 2010, I will be short of what I was getting on Dec. 1, 2009.
You can call it anything you want, Obama tax, expired tax credits or Congressional mandates, whatever. The one thing I can say is its a decrease in income and according to what Obama told us, that isn't suppose to happen to those making less than 250K. I DON'T MAKE 250K !!!

Why not check your Jan. 1, 2009 check and see how the withholding amounts compare? In May, all military retirees were supposed to see a DECREASE in their witholding because of the stimulus. Did you see this decrease? If so how much, and how does that compare to the Jan. 1 increase?
And two points: One, you are entitled to adjust your withholding amount by filling out a form and sending it in.
And two, when you file your returns on April 15 is when you would see an actual increase in taxes or actual decrease in taxes. The amount withheld does not necessarily equate to a higher overall tax bill or decrease in income. In fact, there is no reason that it should. Once again, tax rates have not (yet) increased, for anyone.
Obama promises broken now up to nine. Getting where you can not trust anyone. But I still have HOPE for some CHANGE.
Has he signed legislation that raised taxes? Because every time he turns to one side or another, we get reports on how he turned the wrong way or someone else(aka Rep.) would have done it better, yet FOX isn't on top of all of these tax increases he has signed into law?

I am much more enjoying the fact that there are now two ex-speaking heads for the last eight years that are claiming 9/11 didn't happen on their watch. Sorry, ladies, it's a little too soon to rewrite history. Give it another 20 years.
Ps.....every tax here at home that I have has gone up this year. OMG, Obama.......why did you raise my car tax and my house tax.....oh, wait.......someone else did that. Yeah, my Republician leadership, or was it the economy?
