OMG!!! So sad. Just showed on the local news Johnny and June Cash's home has just burnt to the ground. Still smoldering...so sad. Luckily no one was hurt. Barry Gibb's had bought it last year and was adding on a lot of additions and decks to the back of the home overlooking the lake. Evidently all the wood was being treated with preservative and then someone got too close with a flame. The news just said at least one worker has cinged eyebrows but other than that no one was hurt. :whack: It was a beautiful home. :sosad: :nono1: Even I noticed the warning about linseed oil when I treated my own deck. The whole back of the house was natural colored, stained wood. The additions were beautiful too. I just drove by there the other day to check it out. Sad historically for this area.

:dunno: nobody crying for Barry Gibb? It was his house, too, and he is still living, isn't he?

I'm sure he is sick this happened. It's actually a piece of history, part of the Cash family legacy. There were wood carvings of beautiful mandolins and fiddles on cabinet doors, etc. Even Bob Dylan had stayed there. Kris Kristoferson landed his helicopter in the back yard to pitch a song he wrote. There's a sweet story I heard through the grapevine that when thier son, John Jr., was born Johnny had their driveway covered in rose petals for when June brought the baby home. I'm sure Roseanne and Carlene, and the entire family are sick about it too. :sosad:
