I think you took my message out of context. My point was, intentions are what matter, and different people have different ways of expressing their patriotism. One cannot know what is in a person's heart by what type of American flag ("real" or "modified") they display. I feel confident that O and R are both patriotic and love and respect this country. Andy A, I understand your intensity re: this issue and appreciate your service. My Dad served 27 years and was injured in Vietnam, so I understand the significance and sacrifice.

Thank you for the clarification. I think most citizens can discern the difference between respect and disrespect for the flag. My sincere respect and thanks to your Dad for his service. You know my feelings if he served there as every veteran and military retiree will eventually let you know how he felt regarding the conflict. I wouldn't speak of it for years but now have no hesitation in doing so. Betty says I should write a book but I'm too lazy to do so.
