Seems like a good idea - between old age, earbuds, and IEDs, a good portion of America is hearing impaired or on their way.

Considering the vast majority of video on the internet, in commercial instances, is to back up written articles and statements it's a huge PITA. The technology is there, just hasn't been overly developed until now. It may actually reduce the amount of video available on the net as the cost to convert may be prohibitive.

So you are saying that in addition to helping millions of hearing impaired people, there will be fewer You-tube videos?

Win-win! :D

YouTube is most likely unaffected. User submitted videos that are not for commercial use (i.e. granny falling down the stairs, fat boy doing single ladies, etc.) are not covered by the law.
