Imagine seeing this in your kitchen!

EAST LAKE -- Around 10:30 p.m. Monday, Sandra Frosti heard an intruder bumping around in her kitchen.

Turns out, the noise was made by an 8-foot, 8-inch alligator that had crawled into the 69-year-old's kitchen in Eastlake Woodlands.

The female alligator apparently pushed through a screened panel on the back porch, shouldered its way past a potted ficus tree, then got inside the house through an open rear sliding glass door. Once inside, it crawled through the living room, down the hall and into the kitchen.

I wonder from what vantage point the homeowner took the photos! I know I'd have been standing on the kitchen countertops way out of reach if I were her. :D Some of the comments readers have left are hilarious ("Pa, get the gun. Dinner's here!").

Or, "mama wants some new shoes ..." :rotfl:

I think it was the sheriff's deputies who took the photos. I don't think they get paid enough to take those photos. I know ShallowsFuzz would never want to be that close to a Gator. I mean gator. :D

I heard this on the radio today. This is an area very near where we lived and there is (or was) a lot of vacant wooded land, semi-swampy. this didn't surprise me at all when I heard this!

I would have called Sam Wesley...he's our local gator wrestler. He's got the scars to prove it wrestling a gator in Pandora's parking lot!

Cannot just shoot them anymore, when they enter your house or yard. You are required to first obtain a permit, and the kill has to be during Alligator Hunting Season. There was an arrest in Florida last year when a lady shot one in her yard, which was going after her dog. She was charged with hunting out of season without a permit. Didn't get caught until the incident was reported on TV.

If a gator invades your home in Seaside, are you allowed to take its picture?
