Can someone explain to me how shooting innocent people is somehow a solution to a problem?

Yesterday we had the Ft. Hood shooting, today it's an Orlando office!

ORLANDO, Fla. - One person was killed and at least seven were critically wounded in a shooting inside a downtown Orlando high-rise building Friday morning, authorities said. The suspect was described as on the loose and extremely dangerous. Quoting emergency dispatchers, NBC station WESH-TV of Orlando reported that the shooting began about 11 a.m. ET on the fourth floor of the Gateway Center at 1000 Legion Place near Lake Ivanhoe.

Many have been unemployed and haven't gone on a shooting spree - I agree people may be under more stress due to economic conditions, but that doesn't justify killing sprees - maybe a robbery or something.

Did I miss out on the large number of shooting sprees during the Depression?

ORLANDO, Fla. ? Police say a former employee accused of fatally shooting one person and wounding five others at an Orlando, Fla., engineering firm thought it had blocked his efforts to obtain unemployment benefits.

Police say Jason Rodriguez told detectives after Friday's shooting that his bosses at Reynolds, Smith and Hills had fired him two years ago for no good reason.

He recently worked at a Subway sandwich shop but told detectives he quit because he couldn't get enough hours. He said he filed for unemployment but an expected check didn't come and he blamed Reynolds, Smith and Hills.

Police say Rodriguez walked into the firm, pulled a gun and fatally shot an employee. He then opened fire on others, wounding them. He surrendered a short time later at his mother's house.

Homicide and suicide rates were through the roof. Heavy stress causes the weak to snap. Such is life, just take steps to make sure you're not in their fireing line.

Just a thought, but there was criticism of the 24/7 coverage of the school shootings that were en vogue in the 1990s based on the copycat killing theory. I wonder if the nonstop coverage of the Texas shootings were inspirational to the guy in Orlando. :dunno:
