Given-The FDA is going to regulate tobacco.

Therefore, tobacco is destined to be a controlled substance.

Therefore, smokers must answer 'yes' on a form one fills out when buying a gun that asks if the new owner uses controlled substances.

Assuming that gun ownership is denied to those under the influence of controlled substances, smokers will not be able to buy guns!:funn:

I take it that the guy is pissed at Obama, but he has to remember Obama is a smoker, too.

Doesn't the FDA currently regulate all of our food too?

Since anyone applying would obviously be consuming food regulated by the FDA it's a stretch that cigarettes would be a factor in gun licensing just because they are subject to review.

Also, the letter states the regulation says the ILLEGAL use of a controlled substance and since cigarettes have not let been declared illegal, I doubt they would meet the necessary criteria for an answer of "yes".
