From the Houston Chronicle:

Non-cat owners appear to have a 40 percent higher risk of dying from myocardial infarction than those who do have a cat, according to a study presented at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference last month in New Orleans.

Sorry, just doesn't seem worth it. No cat (besides Miss Kitty) for me

They left out the "crazed cat syndrome" from this study.

Crazed cat syndrome: When a cat pounces on your chest in the middle of the night chasing invisible prey. Heart attacks and flying cats may result.

I've never owned a cat. I've only been in the employment of a wide variety of domestic felines.

I thought the same thing when I saw the title of this thread.

In addition to the pouncing on your chest, add:
Sneaking up next to you while you are standing outside and wrapping its tail around your leg;
Deciding that the hem of your robe, and/or your leg, makes a good scratching post while you are applying your makeup in the morning; and
Making figure 8's around your feet when you get up in the middle of the night and are trying to hurry to the bathroom.

But I wouldn't trade her, or actually either of them, for anything in the world. :love:
