Parent of a Teenager!

This is encouraging to read, I wasn't sure I was going to let my 11 year old live to be a teenager!! He's almost 12 going on 21!!

I'd say about the time he's graduated from college, and really on his own. They develop a whole new appreciation for Mom and Dad.

Those are good words to hear! My son enjoys being "the different one" in the crowd.

As is my daughter. She truly goes to the beat of a different drummer which is very good. A friend said she had a strong sense of self..a good thing.

I know I did, and boy did my dad get a lot smarter the older I got. I wish I had thought he was smart in my teens.

I have a wonderful 12 going on 13 in May, and let me tell you, I feel your pain jdarg. I was just talking to a co-worker yesterday about the teens. She said that 10-14 is the hardest time and then they start maturing...we shall see.

Anyway, alot of good advice here that I am going to heed myself!!!!

The teen years are nerve-wracking and heart-wrenching, but they can make you quite proud, too, as you watch your offspring take their place in the world.

As of today, I am in the "big leagues". My baby, Will, is 13 today. I can't believe I have a teenager, since I refuse to let go of a part of being one myself.

I have been taking notes on every post regarding teenage children and stories about your adult children too, since those days aren't far off


He just looked at me and said, "Mom- only 3 more years and I'll be driving!"

I need to steady myself.
