Today, many children (of divorced parents, as well as those born out-of-wedlock) are not receiving financial support from the noncustodial parents. Often times the courts must intervene and issue a court order for child support.
Unfortunately, many noncustodial parents will use several evasive tactics to avoiding paying, which are in clear violation of the child support order.
The States are using different measures to enforce these child support orders, to include garnishing pay checks, sending these parents to jail, having professional/drivers licenses suspended, labeling these parents as deadbeats, etc.
On the other hand, some custodial parents use the strong arm of the courts to rob some of the noncustodial parents of their income. In many of these cases, the money paid for child support is often times not used for the child's benefit. Once the money is paid, the courts frequently become silent on how it should be spent.
The child support issue is one that touches an overwhelming number of families each year. What say you about what can be done to address this problem in our society? Why do you feel the way that you do?
